ABOUT US
We Create food forests on school desert grounds so that children from hunger stricken families get a nutritious meal at School. Children also take these skills with them to their homes as ambassadors, hence producing abundant foods for a better income and livelihood. The Photo below show a bear ground at Model Primary School (Bundibugyo District) which hungry children used to sweep daily.
INTEGRATED LAND USE DESIGN
Integrated Land Use Design (ILUD)/ Practical Permaculture Trainings. Every year we train participant from member organization about permaculture practices so that they enable schools to have a diversity of foods for health diets. This enables children to embrace agriculture with love as they develop a deeper care for their environments.
FUNCTIONAL FOOD FORESTS
We create food forests at schools so that children get a diversity of foods fruits and herbs for holistic health. In our operational areas, we found out that many children live home hungry and they spend the whole day at school hungry which make them fail to concentrate on receiving their education and they loose interest in education. These drop out and go in for early marriages. The boys sell land and go to city streets, then they end up as drug addicts and robbers. Most of them contract HIV and they end life sadly.
YOUTH PRACTICAL SKILLS
We give the youth practical skills like soap making, crafts, talent development and entrepreneurship so that they become self-reliant. This stops them from clearing swamps and cutting trees to burn bricks which deplete the environment.
